Greetings, Wololo Warriors!
Welcome to 2016! It’s a new year, and time for you to step up and show your Wololo spirit in our monthly contest.
But first, the winners from last month! We asked you to show us how your favorite characters from the Age franchise celebrate the holidays (the specific holiday didn’t matter). As always, we had a bunch of awesome entries, but we had to narrow it down to our five favorites. Below are this month’s winners!
- Agatarchuong, for this astonishingly beautiful Christmas card:
- Andy P, who wishes you lukewarm cheer and a mediocre holiday with this Winter Solstice greeting card:
- For_Sparta, whose (hand-drawn!) Christmas comic has so much going on that we couldn’t decide which part was our favorite:
- Smileyguyx, whose Christmas greeting went right for the nostalgic gut-punch:
- and Ahmad Ali Karim, who arranged an amazing feat of brotherhood by bringing many Age II leaders together for a New Year’s Feast (you can read the included story here):
Congrats to all winners, and thanks to everyone who participated!
This month, we’re gearing up for the launch of Age of Mythology: Tale of the Dragon on January 28th! To celebrate, we want you to tell us YOUR favorite myth, through the lens of the Age of Empires games. Tell us a myth by submitting an illustration, comic, screenshot, or other picture. You may include with your entry a written portion that’s a maximum of 800 characters in length (not counting spaces).
Your entry may tell a classic myth from antiquity, a folk tale from any culture, or even a story of your own fabrication, as long as it features at least one element from the Age of Empires games. You might re-imagine “The Tortoise And The Hare” starring a king and a villager, or retell one of Anansi’s tales using animals from Age II, or use the mythological units in Age of Mythology to create your own epic myth!
We’ll pick our five favorites, and the winners will each be able to choose two of the below prizes! Submissions must be appropriate, and must be submitted in the forum discussion thread linked below before 11:59 PM PST on January 27, 2016. You can find the full official rules here.
We can’t wait to see your creations!
