Hello, Age of Empires community. I bring warm greetings from a place all too familiar to you and incredibly special to me. My name is Sage. I am a fellow wordsmith who carries a quill and paper wherever I go to record and recount the history of the civilizations that you have come to know and love. By travelling near and far I hope to inspire you all to look at the stories of our civs beyond the screen — to learn the complex and riveting tales of the communities you have spent either decades or just a few days leading through the ages.
What do I look like? Where am I from? My face is covered, you may never know. What I will share is that my emerald robe keeps me cool in the sun and warm in the snow. Believe it or not, you may have seen me before. I have been here since the dawn of time, spending my days piecing together the stories I hoped to one day share with the world. Moonlight guides my quill through the surface of my papers. Through golden specks of light, the crossing of t’s, dotting of i’s, and the gusts of wind made by the flipping of pages, I visit you and visit them.
The much-awaited day has come.
I must admit I am a bit nervous.
My robe is pressed, I polished my rings, and refilled my inkwell in hopes of making the best impression; I do hope I have made a good one so far. The Age of Empires team summoned my presence today, and I am thrilled to be the newest addition to the community. My work can be found under the “Sage of Empires” tab of the website where you will have the opportunity to scroll through some of the codices I have collected over thousands of years. Every week you will find a new post typed up by the team’s Historical Content Writer as I’m not very good with technology. Ink and paper are much better in my opinion.
My wish for this is for you and I to learn together and develop a life-long connection that I hope you carry with you for the rest of time, because I sure will.
I must go now, some of my fellow scribe colleagues are calling so I must flip the page.
P.S. My sincerest apologies if I happen to spill some ink on you at some point, I can be clumsy at times.
We shall meet again soon,
Sage.
