Hello again Age fans!
We are quickly approaching the release date for Age of Empires: Definitive Edition, but we still have a bit of time left in the beta. As we come ever closer to February 20th, we want to let you know what to expect for the beta, launch events, and more!
Preview Week and Beta End: The most common question we hear from our beta participants is “When can we stream Age DE?” Well, that time is nearly upon us! On January 29th, 2018, we invite all beta participants to begin streaming Age DE to their hearts’ content! This preview week will continue through February 5th, 2018, at which point the beta will come to an end.
Beta Expansion: We love our beta participants, and we want some more for this final week! As you may have heard we’re sending 100,000 additional invitations to the beta on January 29th! If you have still not gotten into the beta and would like to be a part of this preview week there are two ways to get in:
- Sign up as an Age of Empires Insider here, and be chosen to participate.

- We’ll be picking our lucky new participants on January 25th at 9:00am PT, so please make sure to sign up for the program before then! Invitations will be sent on January 29th.
- Pre-order Age of Empires: Definitive Edition in the Microsoft Store.
- This will automatically get you access to the beta. You can find directions on how to download the game and start playing here.
During preview week our official Age live stream will also be showing AoE:DE, so stop on by if you’d like to see us play around and compare the Definitive Edition to the classic version of Age of Empires!
